Drinking Water -Sampling Procedure

Chemical Analysis – 1L Bottle, First rinse the bottle with the same water two to three times.

• Collect the sample to the neck of the bottle.
• Note down the location, sample point time, date and weather condition and the parameters to be tested.
• Deliver the sample on the same day in a container with Ice.

Microbiology Analysis – Collect a sterilized bottle from the ELCS laboratory.

• Do not rinse the bottle. As soon as you opened the bottle collect the water sample up to the neck of the bottle leaving a small air space
• Note down the location, sample point time and date and weather condition and the microbiological parameters to be tested.
• Bring the water sample on the same day if possible, otherwise within 24hrs in a container with Ice.

Treated wastewater – Sampling Procedure

• If Oil & grease to be analyzed collect the sample in a wide mouth 1000 ml glass bottle.
• For rest of the analyses, collect the sample in a 1L plastic bottle after rinsing the bottle with same water.
• Note down the location, sample point time and date and weather condition and the parameters to be tested
• Deliver the sample on the same day in a container with Ice.
